Brand Overview

Little did people know that this famous brand is owned by Aerofoam, Malaysia’s leading mattress manufacturer since 1969. As a key latex producer, Aerofoam supports the country’s primary natural commodity by using 100% pure Malaysian rubber as its main raw material. They have also invested heavily in research and development, which has resulted in the development of efficient manufacturing processes using state of the art machinery.

Why Latex?

  • Resistant to bacteria and dust mites. Latex foam is inherently hypo-allergenic and anti-microbial. Thus common germs, bacteria and mildew cannot develop on it.
  • Durable and long lasting. Latex foam is known for its long lasting resiliency and exceptional durability. It does not go through wear and tear easily and is able to last for a long period of time. It is also highly elastic and keeps its original shape for a long time.
  • Full body support and comfort. Latex foam provides superior back support, conforming dynamically to the natural contours of the human body, and adapting automatically to every movement and sleeping position.
  • Natural ventilation system. Featuring a galaxy of interconnecting air channels, the natural ventilation system keeps the mattress fresh dry and cool.
  • Environmentally-friendly. 100% latex products come without the harmful side effects that synthetic materials bring, Hence it is eco-friendly to buy a natural latex mattress since it is completely biodegradable, as opposed to synthetic ones.
  • Feel the difference. Latex foam encourages normal blood flow, reducing instances of muscle aches and cramps. Due to the superior comfort that it brings, you will be less likely to toss and turn, thus causing minimal motion transfe’ and partner disturbance.

Why is Latex Mattress more costly?

It takes about six years for a rubber tree to grow to a point where it is economical to harvest the sap. The harvest period for latex is 9 months long. The remaining 2-3 months in the year is the dry season when the rubber tree sheds its leaves. A tree can only be tapped two to three days in a week – it takes time for the tree to repair itself. One rubber tree produces approximately 300g of latex emulsion per collection. Therefore, a rubber tapper will need to tap about 300 trees to harvest sufficient latex for the production of a single mattress – this shows how precious natural latex is.

Why choose Malaysia Latex and MyLatex?

Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia collectively produce 70% of rubber for the world. Although Malaysia produces way lesser output than its neighbours, Malaysia is the first in introducing Standard Malaysian Rubber (SMR) grades in 1965, which have today become one of the most widely used benchmarks for rubber prices on the world market. Hence Malaysia produced rubber products are always regarded as more premium grade than its counterparts.

MyLatex took the quality of its latex bedding products to the next level as they serve both the domestic and international markets. These certifications are not commonly seen in other latex mattress brands:

1. LGA Certification by TÜV Rheinland AG

  • MyLatex’s Latex Mattress Core obtained 98 points under durability test and evaluation of resilience characteristics.

2. Test of product purity by Eco Institute

  • 100% natural latex purity, 0% synthetic adhesive, 94.3% latex content (the rest are harmless curing additive that is crucial for vulcanization process)
3. SIRIM (Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia) Award
  • The only mattress manufacturer has been awarded with the Malaysian Award for Product Quality MS679:1999 by SIRIM every consecutive year since 1991, in recognition of its high quality product as well as using 100% pure Malaysia latex as its main raw materials.
